So you're just repeating their opinions? Or your own?
It's so easy to jump on a bandwagon.

Peaking in from Aion.....a game where Time > EVERYTHING.
You think GW has grind, try making 5 lvl 30 characters just to get a full set of armor for ONE character.
I miss so much from this game.
So much of this game was done RIGHT. That you can take for granted, that isnt in other games, you're just like "Why didnt they do what GW did?"
Regardless, its nice to come back and see that Anet continues its support and the game is still fun to play.

If the GW community could grow the balls to have their own opinions based on their own feelings, instead of copying whatever they heard because they think it's cool, I think this would be one of the better games on the market.
EDIT: Before I get flamed like hell, this is my view of the community. Somebody says the game sucks, somebody else repeats, and everyone's up and down flaming each other. When a thread pops up like this, and most of the posts describe how people suddenly thinks it's the best game they played.

Grind based PvE-only skills hurt the game quite a bit. Other than that, there were some stumbles but it's overall a pretty enjoyable experience.

Of course, they're only 'grind-based' if you let them be so or find that playing the game (ie, doing quests) is a grind. The EotN skills are perfectly useful at rank 3 (which should be no problem from just doing the quests, plus a few dungeons for Deldrimor, in each area once and not forgetting to grab the bounties). Sunspear skills are fine at r5 and are great at r8 (and there's not really any excuse for not being r8 by the time you hit the Realm of Torment). Kurzick/Luxon skills are surprisingly useful even at r1 (which takes no grind to reach - just play through a side with one or two characters, maybe do a bit of AB).

Doing the same quests over and over for the sake of points is the definition of grind.
Having any skills tied to the amount of time I dedicate to pumping them up is the direct opposite of what GW's was originally designed as. For something so trivial, they should have at least made them account wide. So if I were to farm, based upon differing rankings a less skilled player may out-run me simply due to his grinding efforts. We are now rewarding time rather than skill.. and I doubt this would have been successful prior to years of a fanbase. It certainly would've hurt GW's original appeal.
There is nothing else, skill or item, in the game where you have to play for a ridiculous amount of time to get the most out of, other than PvE-only skills.

Err you do know that Daevion armor is a completely useless armor and becomes obsolete in the 30s ? OF course you can upgrade the armor to make you unstoppable in the abyss. But, you have to PAY for that upgrade. That armor is really useless compared to armor as you progress through the game (Titanium, Adamantium, Strong leather, etc.) Time > Skill is very true. But that is not Aion nor any other MMO's fault besides Guild Wars seeing it is team based with an eight skill limit unlike in WoW where everyone can have up to 30+ skills that EVERYONE can use. Guild Wars' skill system allows it so you can diversify your bar and your team's bar. So many combination for 8 skills. Also pots in PvE/PvP change the gameplay drastically.

You obviously lack the proper knowledge of what's been going on in the past years. Our balls inflated to the size of bigass BLIMPS with posting opinions, but it appears someone at the head of ANet thought "lulz u know pvp sux after all lets go pve n remove teamwork from it while were at it" and made Nightfall happen.

Yeah.I agree as I would ge rid of rank and replace it with spirit and introduce a bunch of new quest that have spirit in them. You would gain spirit even by doing or redoing missions.

As I said, I'm a new player, but some people's responses are just too damn bland to be their own. Well, gotta look a little into how the game was pre NF.
